Taste of Bonita 2009 Highlights Local Restaurants for a Good Cause

Bonita, CA – The annual Taste of Bonita is back for 2009, and some of the area’s top restaurants are serving up their best once again. It’s the return of calories for a cause! The Taste of Bonita 2009 food festival will be held at the Chula Vista Golf Course from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. The Chula Vista Golf Course is located at 4475 Bonita Road in Bonita across from Vons. Sixteen restaurants from Bonita, Chula Vista, Eastlake, and National City are scheduled to participate, offering samples of food from their menus.

 Tickets for Taste of Bonita 2009 are $15 to sample the fare from all participating restaurants, and the proceeds benefit the Bonita Museum & Cultural Center. Taste of Bonita 2009 is an excellent opportunity for residents to sample the cuisine of locally owned restaurants. There will also be live music will be provided by Charlie Bradley.

 The complete list of participating businesses includes the Chula Vista Golf Course, the Bonita Golf Course, Costco-Rancho del Rey, Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, Global Coffee Sidewalk Café, Henry’s Market, Murrieta’s , Ono’s Café, Pat & Oscar’s, Papayas Juice Bar & Fruteria, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Romesco Baja Med Grill, Starbucks, Vons, Trader Joe’s, Villa Capri, and Via Lago Trattoria.

History of Chula Vista—Ice Cream Social

 Chula Vista’s Northwest Civic Association will host a presentation given by Peter Watry on the history of Chula Vista at noon on Sunday, July 19th at the Woman’s Club, 357 G St. Chula Vista, CA 91910.  Historic photos, antiques & mementos will be on display.  Members of the public are encouraged to bring any historical artifacts on Chula Vista that they would like to share. Ice cream will be served following the presentation. The event runs until 2:30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome. Information: (619) 307-3460 or www.northwest chulavista.org.
 Sat July 11th at Friendship Park will communicate with parabolic sound dishes. One on each side of the border. Language exchange from 3-5pm, preparation/experimentation from 9:30am-3pm.
