Chula Vista Southwestern College football will open conference play this Saturday at San Bernardino College.
Looking to bounce back from last weeks lost to Golden West College (2-0), 35-24, wide receiver Chad McMillan openly said this week what the Jaguars (1-1) game plan will be versus the Wolverines (1-1).
“We are going to eliminate the mistakes. That’s our game plan,” said McMillan, a third year sophomore, who knows exactly what to expect from the Wolverines speed.
“Expect to play some athletes. They are quick,” he said. “The game will be much quicker then last week.”
McMillan, who missed the first game of the season with a knee injury, came back last week and caught a 25-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 11-points.
With the defensive unit banged up, head coach Walt Justice has asked his offense to step it up this week.
“I told them ‘We have to outscore them. We need to put up 28 points…at least!’” said Justice. “We will reestablish our running game… we need to start off well and keep the intensity for the entire game.”
McMillan echoed his coach’s statements.
“We have to put 150 percent (into this week). We can’t look back at last week… and game time starts at practice. You make the catches, you make the blocks and you make the cuts that you will make in the game in practice. If you can’t make it in practice, you can’t make it in the game.”

Trujillo, a freshman from Montgomery High School, had one interception, a fumble recovery, which he returned 36 yards for a TD, and six tackles. He is the third Jaguar player of the year to be named by the conference as player of the week…
