The Man-In-Law

The critically acclaimed comedy-tragedy play that has played to sold out audiences in Guyana, South America. DRAWING a Breath

Drawing on the talent of seven exceptional artists, the Southwestern College School of Arts and Communication kicks off its 2002 fall arts season with “DRAWING a Breath,” is on display for public viewing since August 29 through September 26 in the Southwestern College Art Gallery hours on Monday through Thursday, 10a.m to 2 p.m Wednesday and Thursday 6 to 9 p.m The venues closed on holidays and weekends. CIDC California Indian Days Celebration

The San Diego American Indian community cordially invites the public to attend the Nineteen Annual California Indian Days Celebration (CDIC).

This year’s event has an exceptional program, which will highlight and honor the culture and diversity of California’s indigenous people. Cultural presenter will be Kumeyaay Bird Singers, Rumsen Ohlone Dancers, Hoopa Brush Dancers, Pomo Grindstone Dancers and many more. Which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park on the corner of Park Blvd. and Presidents way.

Grupo Latino Meetings

Come to Norman Park Senior Center on Wednesday, September 11th, and Friday June 28th for Grupo Latino’s potluck meetings. The group meet monthly the 2nd Wednesday for potluck and September 27 Friday for potluck social with snacks. Come and socialize with good food and friends. “55 Alive” Driving Course

AARP will provide trained instructors to help you sharp you driving skills. You don’t have to take a test and you may qualify for an automobile insurance discount upon completion. Pre-registration is required, call (858) 465-5291 for reservation. You are required to attended both days of class to complete the course which is held at Norman Park Center.

Lord of the Rings

On Friday, Sept. 13th at 1:00 pm take a magical journey with us and see mythical creatures do battle for good and evil in Middle Earth at the Norman Park Senior Center when we watch The Lord of the Rings, the first part of the Fellowship of the Rings Trilogy. The movies star Elijah Wood as the Hobbit and Ian McKellan as the great Wizard Gandalf. Free popcorn will be available. Admission free.

Pops in the Park

The San Diego Chamber Orchestra present the 2nd Annual Pops in the Park “La Bamba on the French Horn” performance on September 14 at ‘Kit Carson Park’s open air amphitheater in Escondido. The entire family can experience the culture and exciting diversity of music while enjoying and evening under the stars picnic dinner. ‘Kit Carson Park’s is located at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway South, just east of I-15 in Escondido.
