County Television Network (CTN) today announced its "Fiesta Show" on "The County Cooks! With Chef Larry" to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The half-hour program air every day in September at 7:30 p.m., since Saturday, September 1. The show features recipes for a Mexican Fiesta-Carne Asada, Guacamole, Salsa, and Flan. The show also features a segment on local tortillerias and homemade tortillas.
This month's "The County Cooks! With Chef Larry" was taped at Bazaar Del Mundo in San Diego's Old Town, and co-hosted by Executive Chef Jose Duran of the restaurant Casa Guadalajara in Old Town, and Victor Ochoa, artist and Latino culture expert. The Cielito Lindo Mariachi Band also performs.
"San Diego has such a rich Hispanic history, culture and spirit and we celebrate it every day here in Old Town and at the Bazaar Del Mundo," said Chef Duran.
"Whether you're walking through our County's neighborhoods or Chicano Park, eating in our restaurants, or shopping in local markets, the Latino culture is diverse and delicious in San Diego," said Ochoa.
"The County Cooks! With Chef Larry" has also featured the diverse cuisines of the Asian-Pacific region and Polynesia, and local favorites such as avocados, outdoor grilling, vegetarian, and chocolate. Upcoming shows will feature hearty vegetables for fall, and traditional and non-traditional Thanksgiving fare.
CTN is available on Time Warner 22, Adelphia 66, and Cox 17, although programming is not available in all areas at all times. Recipes for "The County Cooks!" and CTN's complete program schedule are available on the web at www.ctn.org.
