San Diego County Libraries Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Spring Valley Library

Schedule of Events:

The Spring Valley Library, 1043 Elkelton Blvd., Spring Valley will present several programs in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month:

Tuesday, Sept., 5, 4 pm.: Craft: Piñata-making

Tuesday, Sept., 12, 4 pm.: "Ojo de Dios" / "God's Eye" Craft.

Saturday, Sept., 16, 2-3 pm: Opening of Spring Valley Branch Library's Spanish Parenting Collection, plus a presentation by the Jamul Folklorico Dancers. Refreshments served.

Tuesday, Sept., 19, 4 pm: Paper Bag Poncho Craft.

 

Poway Library

The Poway Branch Library, 13137 Poway Road, will present five special programs in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month:

Tuesday, Sept., 5, 3:30 p.m.: Spanish Storytime

Thursday, Sept., 7, 3:30 p.m.: Flores and crafts from Mexico.

Saturday, Sept., 16, 11 am: Ballet Folklorico. Celebrate Mexican Independence Day. Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, Sept., 20, 10 am and 11 am: Storytime from the Americas.

Thursday, Sept., 21, 3:30 pm: Piñata Workshop. Must be at least five years old. To sign up, phone (858) 513-2909.
