9th Annual Halloween Costume Contest

Calling all ghoulies, goblins and ghosts! The National City Recreation Department is sponsoring the 9th Annual Halloween Costume Contest on Friday, October 25th.

This annual haunting event will take place at the Martin Luther King Community Center, 140 E. 12th Street in National City. Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. starting with the 0-1 age category.

First place winners from each age division will receive a $25 Walmart gift certificate, followed by $15 certificates for 2nd place and 410 certificates for 3rd place. In addition, $25, $15 and $10 gift certificates will also be given to the overall contest winners. The age divisions are: 0-1 years, 2-4 years, 5-9 years, 10-13 years and 14- adult.

The decor will feature a huge Frankenstein on stage, ghosts, bats, other creatures of the night and spooky musk. The first 200 participants will receive Halloween candy and refreshments.

Come out if you dare! Wear a costume and participate or just come out and get ideas for your Halloween costume. It promises to be a haunting good time!
