Tribute to Latino Medal of Honor Recipients in Phoenix, Arizona

LULAC Sylvestre S. Herrera Council #1087 of Phoenix, Arizona is planning a dinner and presentation on March 2, 2002 in Phoenix to honor the 11 living Latino Medal of Honor Recipients. Plans are also being made to produce a video of LULAC and it's relationship with the 11 living recipients of the Medal of Honor, our nation's highest military honor.

LULAC Council #1087 is named in honor of Sylvestre S Herrera, Medal of Honor recipient from Phoenix. Originally born in Chihuahua, Mexico he enlisted in the military in Phoenix.

When: Saturday, March 2, 2002 / 5 pm - Reception; 6 pm - Dinner; 7pm - Awards Where: The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Phoenix, Arizona Cost: $35 per person / $65 per couple

Event Sponsors and Community Donations are welcomed. The theme for the evening is : "A FEW WHO SACRIFICED FOR ALL." The LULAC council is also selling a calender and are requesting all veterens to send their pictures of them in uniform for publication. All pictures with name, age, and date with an address on the back of photo, will be returned. The calendar are being sold by the page or by the month.
