Pacific Bell and the Quality Challenge are teaming up to benefit Youth Tennis San Diego with the "Trade a Racquet for a Ticket" Program. Beginning May 20, anyone bringing a new or used racquet to any Pacific Bell PCS store in the San Diego area and receive two free tickets to the first session of the Quality Challenge, Thursday, June 17, 1999. the racquets will be donated to Youth Tennis San Diego for use in their afterschool programs and instruction.
Annually, over 4500 youngsters participate in programs conducted by Youth Tennis San Diego. These programs include recreational opportunities, local and national competitive events, educational seminars, kids helping kids projects, and partnership programs with our local school districts and youth organizations. Youth Tennis also supports wheelchair and special populations by providing free court usage, special events, and instruction.
The Quality Challenge, taking place June 17-20 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, is the showcase event on the Worldwide Senior Tennis Circuit. Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Mats Wilander will compete for a $150,000 winners check in singles while eight other senior stars will compete in doubles.
