AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH

What horror! My stomach turns as I contemplate the chilling photographs of torture in the Abu Gharib prison in Iraq. I ask myself, “What has Bush done to our soldiers? Why should the Muslim world thank this administration for its “freedom” when we are raping its women?”

Mr Bush:  I’m asking you:

Can you sleep knowing that you have caused the death of more than 730 young americans? Can you sleep knowing that you have caused the death of more than 10,000 innocent Iraqi women and children?

Can you sleep after seeing the photographs of abuse and destruction in Iraq’s prisons?

Mr Bush, do you not have a conscience?

During the month of April alone, 140 young American soldiers died. Today, as you celebrate your famous and hypocritical decree —“The war is over, mission accomplished”— more than 730 soldiers have died.

The obvious question is: “What mission was accomplished?” The infamous weapons of mass destruction never materialized, Iraq’s connection to September 11 were never Proven. How could the mission have been the capture of Saddam Hussein if today his ex-generals work for you? Are you glad that today our nation is even at greater risk of terrorist attacks?

Mr Bush, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TORTURE TAKING PLACE IN IRAQI PRISONS.

Mr Bush, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATHS OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.

Mr Bush, YOU ARE DESTROYING OUR NATION.

Mr Bush, RESIGN NOW!

Fernando Suarez

Mr Suarez’ son, Jesus A. Suarez, was one of the early casualties of the Iraq war.
