Latingirl magazine wants to help Hispanic high school seniors girls achieve scholarly dreams. On a mission to empower Latin girls with information and provide resources that will move them toward a brighter future, Latingirl magazine presents the third annual Latingirl Scholarship sponsored by Clean & Clear.
"College is extremely expensive and we here at Latingirl magazine are trying to do more than just offer motivation and resources from the pages of our magazine," says publisher Kathleen Keenan. "We are providing support to the fastest growing teen segment in the U.S. and we are pleased to have Clean & Clear partner with us in this important effort."
Ten winners will be awarded $1000 each in scholarship money. Application deadline is April 18, 2001. To be eligible, applicant must be of Hispanic descent, female and a graduating senior in high school. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and a 400 word essay containing personal goals that include either the purpose of community service performed and it's impact or the significance of their Hispanic heritage on their life.
