(19-17} Jesus was led away, and carrying the cross by himself, went out to what is called the place of the Skull (in Hebrew; Golgotha). (18) There they crucified him...(19) Pilate had an inscription placed on the cross which read,
Jesus The Nazarene
The King of the Jews
(19-21) The Chief priest of the Jews, tried to tell Pilate “ You should not have written “ The King of the Jews”, write instead This man claimed to be King of the Jews”....
(19-28) After that, Jesus realizing that everything was now finished, said to fulfill the Scripture, “I am Thirsty”.
(29) There was a jar there, full of common wine. They stuck a sponge soaked in this wine on some hyssop and raised it to his lips.
(30) When Jesus took the wine he said, ”Now it is finished. “ Then he bowed his head, and delivered over his spirit”.
(20-19) On the evening of that first day of the week, even though the disciples had locked the doors of the place where they were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood before them.
(20-21)“Peace be with you” he said ...”As the Father has sent me so I send you.”
(20-22) Then he breathed on them and said: “Receive the Holy Spirit. (20-23) If you forgive men’s sins, they are forgiven; if you hold them bound, they are held bound.
On this day, when we celebrate Easter, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Let us bring to mind what he means to you personally and make efforts to live our lives in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
