Doing Business Her Way

A Women's Conference to Energize Your Business

An exceptional event for women in businesses, the 3rd Annual Women's Business Conference—Doing Business HER Way, is being presented by SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, cosponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, on Thursday, March 22, 2001.

During the full-day conference, attendees can choose 3 of 9 specially designed workshops presented by successful, dynamic entrepreneurs who will teach a variety of essential management skills. The workshops include topics as Ten Steps to Marketing like a Pro, How to use Humor to Enhance Business Skills, How to Prioritize for Business Success, Essential Tips on Internet Etiquette, and much more.

One of the sessions, "Networking Like an Expert," will be presented by Leslie Vizthum, an enthusiastic networker for more than 18 years, who has developed a million dollar Network Marketing business and a successful real estate and development business. Leslie will explain how to attract clients as opposed to chasing the wrong people, where to go in the community to find clients, skills that make meeting people fun and productive, the art of asking for and receiving referrals, and how to create long-term business relationships to increase sales.

Another special feature of the day offers women an opportunity to bring donations of gently used business clothing for other women just starting a career and who cannot afford the necessary wardrobe. (This is a tax-deductible donation to Dress for Success-San Diego).

The conference is being held at Mira Costa College-San Elijo campus (in Cardiff). The day begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 7:00-8:15 a.m., followed by workshops, networking opportunities, hosted luncheon, and an extensive trade show featuring women-owned businesses, and will conclude with door prizes from the exhibits at 3:30 p.m. Cost for the entire day, including continental breakfast and luncheon, is only $55. Call SCORE at (619) 557-7272 to ensure space and register in advance with your Visa or MasterCard.
