Spring will be celebrated at Chula Vista’s recreation centers with a variety of activities for youth. The schedule includes a Spring Fest at Loma Verde Recreation Center, Breakfast with Bunny at Otay Recreation Center, Spring Fling Carnival at the Community Youth Center, and spring break/intersession day camps at Parkway Community Center and Heritage Community Center.
Spring Fest, March 18: Children of all ages can hop down to the Loma Verde Recreation Center at 1420 Loma Lane for an afternoon of fun. The free activities from 3 to 5 p.m. will include games, spring crafts and a photo with the Spring Bunny. For more information, call (619) 691-5082.
Breakfast with Bunny, March 19: Families can enjoy a fun-filled breakfast with pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Otay Recreation Center. Spring crafts, an egg hunt and a visit with the Bunny also will be featured. Tickets, priced at $4 for adults and $2 for children, can be purchased prior to the event at the center, 3554 Main St. For more information, call (619) 476-5325.
Spring Fling Carnival, March 26: An egg hunt, crafts, games, dance and martial arts performances, and pictures with the Spring Bunny will be among the fun activities at this free event. Spring Break/Intersession Day Camps
Parkway Spring Day Camps, March 21-April 1: Arts and crafts, videos, sports, cooking and a field trip will be part of these two five-day camps. Designed for children ages 6 to 12, both camps are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Parkway Community Center, 373 Park Way. The fee is $110 each week with the option for extended care from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. for an additional $10. Each camper will get a T-shirt and registration will be accepted the first day of camp, space permitting. Call (619) 691-5083 for more information.
Heritage Spring Intersession Camps, March 21- April 8: Children ages 6 to 12 can enjoy arts, crafts, games, field trips and more. The sessions are scheduled from March 21 to 25, March 28 to April 1 and April 4 to 8. Fees range from $100 to $120 per week and morning extended care is available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. for an additional $10 per week.
