Rocking' Summer Nights Sizzle At Sea World

SeaWorld San Diego sizzles this summer with extended park hours, special shows, more thrills, and more adventure. Enticing aromas fill the air, costume characters mingle with guests, and a 320-foot-hight red, white, and blue Flag of Lights appears at sundown. Hot musical bands perform at the Main Gate Plaza, Shamu and crew entertain guests with a special nighttime show, and a dazzling fireworks spectacular takes place each evening. This is SeaWorld's Rocking' Summer Nights, now through Labor Day.

Every summer night, when the sun begins to set, the nighttime energy and excitement explode as SeaWorld's Rockin' Summer Nights begin. Guests won't want to miss Shamu's House of Douse, an after-dark, rock-and-roll pool party. World-famous Shamu the killer whale and friends perform spectacular behaviors, drenching enthusiastic crowds seated in the soak zone. Accompanied by high-energy, popular dance music and festive night lighting, guests participate by singing, dancing, and playing interactive games with the party crew. It's the flashiest, hippest, hottest, wettest show in the park.

World Rhythms on Ice returns to the adventure park this summer with new cast members and more excitement than ever. Dramatic lighting and rhythmic music draw guests into this theatrical production starring world-class athletes. As acrobats spin suspended 30 feet above ground, champion ice skaters and gymnasts from around the world mesmerize the audience with gravity-defying leaps, twirls, jumps on ice and high-flying flips.

Sea Lion and Otter Stadium hosts nightly merriment and knee-slapping comedy with the hit show, Sea Lions Tonite. The special night show parodies SeaWorld's daytime shows and stars California sea lions Clyde and Seamore. This daring duo has fun splashing about and entertaining guests with zany antics, keeping the crowds roaring.

Band Jam 2000 rocks SeaWorld throughout the summer with performances from top San Diego rock-and-roll, rhythm and blues, country, swing, funk and hip-hop bands. As night falls, the Main Gate Plaza is transformed into a larger-than-life outdoor nightclub, complete with bandstand, light and bubble show, giant inflatables, rock-and-roll props and more. Musical acts perform nightly, 7 p.m. to park close.

The Flag of Lights on the Southwest Airlines Skytower brightens San Diego's skyline with more than 2,000 red, white and blue 25-watt bulbs on five miles of wire. The Flag of Lights sets the stage for a dazzling Red, Bright and Blue Fireworks Spectacular—San Diego's only nightly firework display. An extended fireworks presentation on the Fourth of July will be simulcast on KSON 97.3 and Oldies 94.9, synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack.

In addition to Rocking' Summer Nights' special shows and activities, all of SeaWorld's attractions remain open every evening. Family fun and in-your-face entertainment await SeaWorld guests experiencing Pirates 4-D, the park's newest attraction. Pirates 4-D is a thrilling, surprise-filled, comedy tale of a hapless pirate crew and its wacky captain. More than a 3-D movie, Pirates 4-D introduces a fourth dimension that uses the latest technology and special effects to tantalize the senses with sprays of water, blasts of air and other surprises. The 17-minute adventure film is sure to be a hit with the entire family.

Other popular SeaWorld attractions include Shipwreck Rapids, Wild Arctic, Shamy Close Up, Manatee Rescue, Rocky Point Preserve, Penguin Encounter, Shark Encounter, Shamu's Happy Harbor, Forbidden Reef, Garden of Discovery, aquariums and more.
