The San Diego Chapter of Executive
Women International honored their 1999 scholarship award winners
at their May meeting held at the San Diego Yacht Club. Laura Cunanan,
Grossmont High School, won the first place aware of $2,500. The
second place award of $1,500 went to Wenceslao Juan Pena, Castle
Park High School. Raymond A. Berdugo, Oceanside High School, received
the third place award of $1,000.

Students are judged on scholastic achievement, extracurricular community activities, leadership qualities, communications skills and good citizenship. The scholarship is open to high school juniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university to pursue a career in any professional field of study.
Executive Women International, an international organization with over 4,000 members, has been granting scholarships since 1974 and awards almost $150,000 annually at the national and chapter levels.
