Summer in the City Never Looked So Good…

San Diego Symphony Summer Pops Lights Up The Night With Music And Fireworks

On July 1, the San Diego Symphony kicks off its Summer Pops music extravaganza complete with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra featuring Summer Pops conductor, Matthew Garbutt, an exciting line-up of guest artists and crowd-pleasing fireworks that light up the night.

This beautiful location with dramatic views of the bay and city skyline offers patrons a unique summertime experience and an enjoyable evening with family and friends. Seating includes champagne and cabaret tables with seating for four along with a comfortable grandstand and a family-friendly lawn area.

Now That’s Entertainment!

One of the highlights of the Summer Pops season is of course a star-spangled, flag-waving, Fourth of July Celebration season opener on July 1, 2 and 3. Immediately following on July 8 and 9, Three Broadway Divas hold court to be complimented by the very masculine The Three Phantoms later in the month. Familiar faces include Burt Bacharach, Jose Feliciano and Bugs Bunny.

On a more classical note, the music of Puccini and Rossini will fill the air as the Opera Goes Pops while a world-class Piano Spectacular will romance the crowd with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Late in August, Thelma Houston and The Spinners kick it up a notch and dance the night away in a Salute to Motown. Sergeant Pepper pays a visit with a Beatles’ Classical Mystery Tour followed by Take Five legendary jazz great, Dave Brubeck.

The Pops concludes on Labor Day Weekend with its traditional 1812 Tchaikovsky Spectacular complete with Howitzer cannons that will go boom in the night for a sensational season finale.
