Theatre at The Whaley House

Throughout the month of June performances for “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” will continue beginning at 8 p.m. and will run for 100 minutes without an intermission. The play takes place outdoors on the lawn of the historic Whaley House at Old Town. Admission is $15. For ticket information, call (619) 297-7511.


“A Feast of Fools”

La Jolla Playhouse will begin performances through July 14. This play includes mime, acrobatics, juggling and music that showcase 25 years of Geoff Hoyle’s special brand of clowning. Tickets are available by calling (858) 550-1010 and through the Playhouse website at www.lajollaplayhouse.com.

Patriotism Through the Eyes of Children

Join us Friday June 14 to celebrate Flag Day at the Veterans Memorial Center and Museum located at President’s Way and Park Blvd., 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Activities include: Over a 100 drawings on display at 4 venues, Boy’s Scout Troop 6684 to perform patriotic songs and teach proper flag folding, Draw American flags and make a giant flag to send to the troops in Afghanistan and Pakistan, awards, games/prizes. The fun will continue Saturday, June 15 from 9:00 to 12:00 Noon (FREE).


Día de San Juan Salsa Festival

Latin Flavor Productions presents the 7th annual Día de San Juan Salsa Festival to be held on Sunday, June 16 at Southwestern College. There will be music - Orquesta Primo, Hector Rivera y la Conciensa, kids corner, vendor information booths, Puerto Rican food and dancing. Cost is 5.00, kids 12 and under are free. The college is located at 900 Otay Lakes Road in Chula Vista.


Park Concert Series

Free outdoor concert series will continue from June 18 through August 29 at the Spreckels organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. Picnic on the lawn or sit in the pavilion’s comfortable seating area and enjoy a wide variety of musical programs ranging from flamenco and jazz to barbershop quartet and banjo bands. Club SeaWorld is Back

SeaWorld San Diego is back again with 10 concert dates that teens won’t want to miss. Ashanti, whose hit single “Foolish” is making serious waves on the radio, will kick off Club SeaWorld on June 20, followed by up-and-comers like Jacob Young, MPRESS, Lil’ Romeo and other exciting artists slated to rock the adventure park every Thursday night, June 20-Aug. 20. Día del Folklor

Join us for a celebration of traditional Mexican folkloric dance and music. “Día del Folklor” is an annual event that showcases traditional dances from over 15 Mexican states or regions. Educational Cultural Complex located at 4343 Ocean View Blvd., in San Diego June 21 from 6-9 PM. Tickets are $7 presale, $10 at the door.

Somos Uno/We Are One

This event is scheduled for June 21st, the day of the Summer Solstice at the Border Field State Park in San Diego and Playas de Tijuana, with music stages on each side of the US/Mexico border. The bands will be able to be seen and heard on both sides of the fence and will alternate throughout the day and evening, from 12:00 noon through midnight.

The central theme of the concert is to show the cross border unity between people and give voice to the bi-national resistance to the war being waged by the US and it’s allies.
