The San Diego Foundation is not alone in celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding.
San Diego's largest public foundation is working in partnership with Sempra Energy on its anniversary celebration, which will last for eight months, from May through December 2000.
Sempra Energy's support has made it possible to increase the community's awareness of philanthropy and the important role it plays in enhancing the quality of life throughout the San Diego region. Media sponsors of the 25th anniversary campaign are Cox Communications, KPBS, and San Diego Magazine. Merrill Lynch is a corporate sponsor.
San Diego Magazine is working with The San Diego Foundation to create a special section on philanthropy in the June 2000 issue.
"The result of our partnerships with Sempra Energy and our media sponsors is a coordinated effort to focus on philanthropy all of this year," says Cindy Ribant, Vice President of Marketing/Communications for The Foundation.
Ribant says she expects to add additional sponsors who are interested in enhancing San Diego's philanthropic community.
Partners in the 25th anniversary celebration will be recognized in a June 23 Gala party and in other events, culminating in a Christmas on the Prado VIP reception on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000.
