President Bush Out Of Touch With 30 Million Californians

PRESIDENT George W. Bush came to California, but as far as 30 million-plus residents are concerned, he may as well have stayed in the White House! He came to a state that has been in dire straits because out-of-state energy source providers manipulated the energy markets to increase their corporate incomes to outrageous levels!

Residents have been denied adequate gas supplies to heat their homes, run their water heaters or use their stoves. Our homes had their gas supplies cut off in the middle of winter, because residents could not pay their gas bills after they were increased by 100-350 percent! Undeniable hardships were levied upon the people of this state, especially the senior citizens, the working poor, those on fixed incomes, and those who have large families to feed and cloth. The needs of these people were cast aside by the uncontrollable greed of the monopoly gas suppliers.

President George W. Bush does not care. He refuses to intercede on behalf of the nation to ensure that Americans will not be sacrificed upon the pillar of greed!

Cutting or limiting the flow of gas was not enough for those who the Federal Government permitted to have a monopoly on our energy resources. With the onslaught of spring and summer, the electrical monopolies are now in the process of increasing electrical rates by 150 percent-plus. Rolling blackouts have begun cutting the electrical supply to our homes, businesses, streets, roadways, airports, military installations and medical operations. Our homes are no longer a secure haven for residents. They are plunged into darkness. Our electrical stoves, computers, lamps, television sets, burglar alarms, air conditioners, washing machines, clothes dryers, freezers, refrigerators, fire alarm systems and home medical equipment suddenly fail to function, which in some cases causes people to die! Homes are switched off-line and all electricity is stopped. Monopolistic greed by the electricity Barons has brought this loss of energy to our state!

YET, THE PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES IS UNWILLING TO USE THE POWER OF THE NATION TO FORCE THE PARASITIC MONOPOLY ENERGY OWNERS TO HEEL!

Mr. President, there are some things in any country that should never be placed in the hands of corporate thugs. Two of these are gas and electricity. They are vital to the survival of the species. They are as important as water, air and food. The provisions of vital entities should never be dependent upon private enterprise or subject to their bottom line. GREED overshadows good intentions. The power that money buys has been the engine of FASCIST GOVERNMENTS throughout history. Be a Republican, but beware of those who dream of turning America into a Fascist nation.
