The Truth About Spending At Sweetwater

It is the job of public schools across California to provide students with a curriculum that prepares them to take tough, state mandated tests and enough extracurricular activities and electives to entice those who are at risk of dropping out, into staying the course.


Pictured is the unfinished, 75,000 square foot, gymnasium. To giveperspective to the size of the gym, consider that the doors are roughly seven (7) feet tall!

In light of the state’s proposed $24 billion deficit, many parents, teachers and community members within the Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD) are questioning the district’s spending priorities.

San Diego County Public Law Libraries Still in Precarious Position

Financially strapped law libraries gave a collective sigh of relief last May when legislation proposing they foot the bill for services the counties have been providing for the last 111 years was amended. The original legislation would have forced the libraries to pay for their own facilities, mainly rent and electricity. The amendment proposed that counties continue to pay the bills for library facilities, but be able to review the costs to ensure the proper allocation of funds.

There is a little known organization exists in the County of San Diego named the Association of Iranian-American Professionals (AIAP). Its members consist of former citizen of the nation of Iran who immigrated to the United States when the Ayatollah Khomeini ousted Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi as Shah of Iran in 1979. The exiled Ayatollah -Khomeini had stirred up opposition to the Shah and was instrumental in arousing the youth into taking extreme actions. The Ayatollah returned to Iran from exile and formed the extreme “Islamic Revolutionary Government” in 1979.
