BPW Foundation Scholarships for Women in Need

Scholarships Help Women Advance Their Careers through Education

The BPW Foundation is accepting applications for Career Advancement Scholarships.  These scholarships are open to women seeking the education necessary for entry or re-entry into the workforce or advancement within it. Career Advancement Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic merit, volunteer work, and previous academic and work history. Since 1969, the BPW Foundation has awarded over $6 million in scholarships, loans and grants to over 8,000 women wanting to further their education and improve their careers and earning power. Last year the BPW Foundation awarded 81 scholarships.

Scholarship recipients must be 25 years of age or older and have been accepted at an accredited educational institution.  Over the years demographics have shown that the average recipient is a 37 year-old single mother of 2 children.  Twenty-five percent of the recipients have received pubic assistance at one time or another and 40 percent of the recipients are the first in their immediate family to earn a college degree.

Applications are now available on the BPW Foundation Website at www.bpwusa.org or by calling 10800-525-3729.  Applications are due on April 15.

“This is a very competitive program. Year after year I am impressed by the quality of applicants and heartened by their stories and drive,” Diane Trobaugh, Chair of the BPW Financial Aids Committee, said. “I am so pleased to be a part of an organization with a program that has such a profound impact on women with limited opportunities but unlimited potential.”
