Helping adults find work and connecting employers with skilled people is what CE2 is all about. On Wednesday, January 31st CE2 invites business owners, local VIPs and the media to attend their Grand Opening at the National City Adult School, 517 Mile of Cars Way, National City, CA from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon.
As well as matching qualified, screened applicants with prospective employers, CE2 also provides each applicant a two hour workshop on basic workplace skills and practices. CE2 then matches applicants to various clerical, light industrial and technical positions throughout the county.
Visitors can take a guided tour of the facility, talk with CE2's staff, win raffle prizes and enjoy a catered lunch. Also scheduled to make a guest appearance is Padres Manager, Bruce Bochy. "We're excited to have everyone come and take a look at what we have to offer," says Geneveve Bucsit, CE2's Executive Director. "We're so confident of the quality of our services that we're offering visiting employers a validated coupon for four hours of free staffing."
Volunteering to serve on CE2's Honorary Board is actor, producer Edward James Olmos. Olmos is known for his varied roles in television and film, notably "Miami Vice" where he won an Emmy and his role in the film "Stand and Deliver" which earned him an Oscar nomination. Olmos also is a strong supporter of various causes and charitable organizations throughout the country. CE2 is excited to have Olmos as Chairman of its Honorary Board.
CE2 opened in October of 2000 and is sponsored by the Ellis Foundation and Meta-bolife International Sweetwater Union High School District Superintendent Dr. Ed Brand says, "The employment process can be intimidating. CE2 helps our adult education students navigate their way to a job and then as a non-profit organization reinvests in the program to help even more students."
