New York The Capital of the World and the Final Destination

By R.M. Medina

AFTER the horrible tragedy of September 11 in New York, the city is getting back to normal life...

NEW YORK, the capital of the world... is the FINAL DESTINATION of all the great leaders of the world and the non leaders... THE FINAL DESTINATION of the super rich and the ones who want to be rich... the world destination of the famous and the wanna-be famous.... NEW YORK, has something for everybody. You can dress up any way you want and do anything you want and nobody cares... When I interviewed some of the New Yorkers this is what they said...

MAYBE people like to come to New York because New York has something for everybody; it is a 24-hour city, exuberant, dynamic and a great place to live.

MAYBE they come to see the Statue of Liberty, because she represents to them LIBERTY, FAITH, and a better life.

MAYBE because they want to see Manhattan, the great tall buildings, Times Square and the Broadway shows.

MAYBE they come to see the New York Yankee Stadium, home of the great baseball players like Babe Ruth, Joe Dimagio, and Mickey Mantle...

MAYBE because they want to see the beautiful harbor, where big ships arrive from all over the world...

MAYBE because they want to see New York's fantastic Central Park, one of the biggest in the world...

MAYBE because they want to see Carnegie Hall, or the Empire State Building, or Rockefeller Center...

MAYBE because they want to see the United Nations Building where the delegates decide the future and destiny of the world...

MAYBE they come to see Wall Street, home of the New York Stock Exchange, where stock brokers win and loose billions of dollars...

MAYBE they come to see Rudy Guiliani the ex-mayor of New York who gave inspiration, faith and courage at the time of the great tragedy...

MAYBE, for whatever reason, New York is a dream city and the final destination for all the people with dreams and hopes try to reach the plateau of the super stars. Whatever the reason is, if "you can make it there you can make it anywhere," New York is waiting for you...

AND IN RETROSPECT... when I ask a young man born and raised in New York, are you happy in this city... he said, "I love New York, New York is my town, my beloved town"... and I asked him, "If you had the opportunity to move to sunny San Diego, CA, would you do it? he said... "in a heart beat... what time does the plane leave?"... No comment...
