One-Stop Shop Offers Directions & Connections for Adults 50+
CHULA VISTAThinking about retiring, but don’t know if you’re ready? Are you retired and don’t know what to do with your newfound freedom? Life Options South Bay is hosting an Open House where you can learn more about its website which provides people over 50 with directions and connections on how to lead active and fulfilling lives.
The Open House will take place Monday, February 3, 2003 from 4-6 p.m. at the Norman Park Center, 270 F Street, Chula Vista.
Life Options South Bay, a public/private partnership between the City of Chula Vista, Southwestern College, the Chula Vista Coordinating Council and County of San Diego, Aging and Independence Services established the website www.LifeOptionsSouthBay.com for leads on volunteer opportunities, educational, recreational, and health activities, and employment possibilities. The goal of the one-stop shop is to provide persons 50 + with information on ways to improve their quality of life and make the most of their retirement.
The Life Options Annex is located at Norman Park Center and is a place where retirees can come together and learn from each other. Retired volunteers will offer personal insight on the transition from work to retirement and help individuals find activities to ensure they lead rewarding lives.
The Web site is a place to find out what is going on in the South Bay. At www.LifeOptionsSouthBay.com, visitors will find opportunities for education, travel, volunteerism, employment and training, health and fitness, and recreation.
“Whether a person finds a class they are interested in or a volunteer opportunity, Life Options can provide an avenue that will make the retirees life more interesting and rewarding,” added Harvell.
Starting February 4, the Annex will have a volunteer and computer access available from 9-3 p.m. on Mondays and from 11-3 p.m. on Tuesdays.
