$250,000 Offered to Local High School Seniors

Two hundred fifty thousand dollars is being offered to San Diego County high school students through the San Diego County Salute to Education scholarship program. Two hundred fifty graduating seniors will each be awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship. In addition, one scholarship recipient will also win a brand new Ford vehicle.

Salute to Education is open to any high school senior who resides in San Diego County and attends an accredited San Diego County public or private school, is eligible to graduate in 2003, and has not received a full four year scholarship to attend a college or university.

Academic achievement is considered, but is not the sole factor in determining scholarship recipients.

Scholarships will be awarded in arts, athletics, automotive, foreign language arts, mathematics, performing arts, science, social science and vocational/technical to assist the local seniors throughout San Diego County.

Applications are available from high school counselors, all San Diego County Ford dealers and on the website at www.salutetoeducation.com. The application deadline is February 14, 2003.
