**This January 11, the pubic is invited to explore the ocean along with six during the 3rd Annual Ocean Authors Day. The authors will give short presentations related to their books on topics ranging from the geology of Baja California to the health of coral reefs. Also a book signing will follow each presentation.

**For all you teddy bear and doll lovers, this show will feature hundreds of incomparable antique, collectible and artist teddy bears, dolls and toys exhibited by more than 200 of the finest dealers from all over the nation. Linda’s San Diego Teddy Bear, Doll & Antique Toy Show & Sale will be held Saturday, January 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, January 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Center, 1895 Camino del Rio South, in San Diego. **Cirque Dreams is an original and imaginative burst of color, costumes and performance artistry. A man enters the realm of his own mind where through the genius of their finely tuned bodies, an international ensemble of 20 unique artists exhibit performances of endurance and flexibility. January 6-11 at San Diego Civic Theatre, located at 3rd and B Street in San Diego. Tickets range from $19-$50 and are on sale now. Call Ticketmaster at 220-TIXS.

**The Poway Arts Foundation will present acclaimed actor John Astin in “Once Upon a Midnight” Saturday, January 10 at 8 p.m. A one person play based on the life, loves and work of Edgar Allan Poe, blends the historical with the supernatural to create an unforgettable and amazing journey through Poe’s imagination. Astin becomes the mysterious Poe, father of modern detective fiction, pioneer of the science fiction tale, a misunderstood genius, a visionary, and a man of many contradictions. **The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will present the first installment of World Cinema Series every other Monday beginning on Monday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. through March 15. All films in the series will be screened in Sherwood Auditorium at MCASD’s La Jolla location. Series tickets can be purchased at either MCASD Bookstore location for $45. Tickets for individual films are $9 for the general public. Films selected by Andy Friedenberg, Director of the Cinema Society of San Diego presents six exciting and critically acclaimed new international films not widely available to audiences in the US.
