Socorro Anderson recently hosted a ribbon cutting for the opening of her new Anderson Professional Services office at 3222 Roosevelt Street, in Carlsbad. It is located in the Barrio to provide services for those who need it the most.
Language barriers sometimes prevent people from seeking help, therefore they sometimes, unintentionally, do not complying with Federal or State laws. Anderson said, “I want to change this situation. I want people of this area and all residents of Carlsbad to feel comfortable when they walk into my office because I am here to help them.”
Anderson’s services include accounting and bookkeeping, including payroll for small businesses. She will prepare both individual and small business tax returns and has Health and Life insurance, available. Anderson’s translations for letters or documents into Spanish or English are a prime part of the business.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce, together with Barrio neighbors, family and friends were there to congratulate her. Ophelia Escobedo prepared delicious, typically Mexican snacks for everyone. She remarked, “Anderson will be a nice addition to our Barrio, Carlsbad. We need a professional Hispanic to take an active interest in the concerns of our Hispanic residents.”
