Free Tax CD-Rom, Tax Assistance Available at Libraries

This tax season don’t deal with the frustration of misplaced forms and tax publications or struggle to answer tax questions. To help residents with their taxes, the Chula Vista Public Library has a free CD-ROM with forms and instructions available, tax assistance offered by volunteers, and paper copies of many tax forms and instruction booklets.

“We invite our customers to utilize the library’s services to help prepare their taxes,” said Assistant City Manager David Palmer. “Whether they choose to use technology and pick up the Free Tax Forms CD or come in for personal assistance, the library strives to make this stressful and busy time easier.”

Free Tax Forms CD-ROM: Available at any of the three Chula Vista Public Library branches, these free CDs are provided by Intuit, Inc., a San Diego-based software company. The CDs, which run on PCs with the Windows operating system, include IRS and state tax forms such as instruction booklets and simple tax tips that can be printed out at home.

The Free Tax Forms CD-ROM takes the guesswork out of the tax forms and booklets search that has become common this time of the year. The CD not only delivers the forms, publications and tax tables but also includes a Forms Advisor that helps select which tax form should be filed. This innovative Forms Advisor helps take the guesswork out of which tax forms are the most appropriate for a family or individual situation.

Free tax help: Free personal tax assistance will be offered at two of the Chula Vista Public Library branches at the following times and dates:

Sign-up for time slots will be available on the day of service-no advance appointments will be taken.
