Logan Heights — Emerson-Bandini Elementary School is a small school dropped right down in the middle of the Logan Heights Barrio. Split by National Avenue and 35th St. the school is sandwiched between the speeding outflow from the nearby freeway and the cross traffic from the Logan Heights area and Southeast San Diego.
La Prensa San Diego was invited to meet with children of the 6th grade and introduce them to the field of journalism, and publishing.
It was an interesting hour and half. We really don't know whether they learned anything or not, but we did. It was a real pleasure to reach out to children who are on the cusp of defining what they are going to dedicate their lives to.
