The San Diego Housing Commission is encouraging San Diego city residents to attend upcoming public hearings to help decide how to best invest certain federal housing and economic development grants.
The hearings will be held to solicit community feedback for a draft of "The City of San Diego Annual Consolidated Action Plan." The document will be available for public review now through March 28. The purpose of the public review is to solicit comment on identified community development needs, strategies, and proposed programs.
The action plan – actually annual update of a five-year (2001 – 2005) strategic plan proposes how to allocate over $30 million in federal funding. (The federal funding sources are: Community Development Block Grants, HOME Investment Partnerships funds, Emergency Shelter Grants, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS grants.)
