The 2nd Annual Induction Ceremony of 5 women in to the San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at UCSD. Nominations for women who have contributed to the history and culture of San Diego County are requested. The 2003 inductees will be selected through an OPEN nomination process - any resident (current or former) of San Diego is eligible.
Judges will select women whose work reflects the criteria outlined in one of the following five categories: 1) Trailblazers; 2) activists and leaders; 3) women who have significantly improved the lives of women in San Diego County; 4) women who are multi-culturally competent or who have had success in building bridges, coalitions, and understanding among diverse groups within the community; and 5) women have preserved their culture and history and shared that history with their communities, including mentors, counselors, and matriarchs. At least one inductee (in any of the above categories will be a woman who is deceased or a woman under the age of 25.
