The City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture (Commission) announces the release of the Fiscal Year 2005 Organizational Support Program (OSP) guidelines and application. The purpose of the OSP is to provide funding to non-profit arts and culture organizations that enhance the quality of life in the city’s neighborhoods and pursue the vision of San Diego as a cultural destination.
The Commission allocates funding to arts and culture organizations whose primary mission is the creation, preservation and presentation of arts and cultural programming and/or support services to arts and cultural organizations. Applicants must have engaged in arts and cultural programming for a minimum of three (3) full years prior to the submission of the application. Organizations must also be able to demonstrate proof of non-profit status under Section 5-1(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code at the time of application, and 75% of all core programming must take place within the San Diego City Limits.

The deadline for submission of the OSP FY 2005 Application is Friday, October 3, 2002. Applications must be postmarked by the deadline date or hand-delivered by 5:00 p.m. to the city of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, 1010 Second Avenue, Suite 555, San Diego, CA 92101.
Applicants are encouraged to attend a free technical assistance workshop that will provide an overview of the application process and tips on how to prepare a competitive proposal. Workshop will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2003, 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Commission’s large conference room at 1010 Second Avenue, West Wing, 5th Floor; Tuesday, September 16, 2003, 3:30-5:00 p.m., at the Malcolm X Library, 5148 Market Street; and Wednesday, September 17, 2003, 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Santa Fe Room of the Balboa Park Club, 2150 Pan American Road, Balboa Park.
