The San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SDCHCC) has elected Elizabeth Bustos of HealthCare Management Strategies as its new president. Ms. Bustos, who has served for the last year as Vice President for the Hispanic Chamber will replace outgoing President, Manny Aguilar.
The new president, executive board, and incoming board were inaugurated at the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 13th Anniversary Installation Dinner & Silent Auction recently. Cynthia Ledesma of Cox Communications was elected as Vice President, Paola Hernandez of the San Diego Workforce Partnership was elected as Secretary and Berenice Barahona of Union Bank of California was elected Correspondence Secretary. Roberta Sistos of the law firm, Burke, Williams and Sorensen and Tom Saiz of Calderon, Jaham and Osborn, CPA’s, will serve as Chamber Parliamentarian and Treasurer, respectively.
“Elizabeth has always proven herself as a great leader in this organization,” says outgoing President Manny Aguilar. “She has been instrumental in negotiating contracts, increasing membership, and producing tangible results. I’m confident she will lead this organization to the fullest.”
Ms. Bustos will serve as President of SDCHCC for the 2002-2003 term and focus on increasing membership, identifying opportunities for small businesses, expanding media relations outreach and advancing the organization’s infrastructure.
The SDCHCC has close to 1,000 members and is a leading advocate for Hispanic entrepreneurs and those who want to reach this target market. The SDCHCC hosts events such as business development workshops, monthly business networking mixers, an annual Installation Dinner, the Building Latina Success Conference, Vendor Outreach Program, and the annual ¡Viva El Mariachi!
