Funding Sources for Regional Development Workshop

The Small Business Development & International Trade Center (SBDITC) cordially invites you to the Regional Workshop “Funding Sources for Regional Development with the NADB and the BECC”.

A workshop organized by the South County Economic Development Council that will provide an overview on opportunities to capitalize on the programs and services available at the North American Development Bank (NADB) and the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) for environmental project development in the States of California and Baja California. It will be held Tuesday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Martin Luther King Community Center, 140 E. 12th St., Suite B, National City.

NASSCO to Hold April 23 Purchasing Event for Veteran-Owned Businesses

National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) will join with the Center for Veterans Enterprise to hold an Open House for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, including Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, on Wednesday, April 23, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Open House will be held at NASSCO’s administration building located at 2798 E. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA, 92113. NASSCO’s buyers will meet one-on-one with prospective suppliers to discuss NASSCO’s present and future purchasing requirements. This is a unique opportunity to learn what NASSCO purchases and to meet the people who actually do the buying.

Veteran business owners must register by completing the registration form on the official website: www.vet biz.gov. Go to the website and click on the link “General Dynamics and CVE present Veterans Appreciation Day” for complete event information. Pre-registration is required, and registration closes April 16, 2003.

Limited parking for the event will be available in NASSCO’s lots, or attendees can take the San Diego Trolley to the Harborside Station, which stops directly across from the entrance to NASSCO’s shipyard.

The Center for Veterans Enterprise works to promote business ownership, opportunities and expansion for veterans and service-disabled veterans. The center provides training and educational programs, free market research services for buyers, market access assistance and prospective buyers.
