San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic Offers Scholarships

Five scholarships available for San Diego County high school women

San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic, an organization composed of alumnae from various sororities, is pleased to announce that it is offering five $800 merit scholarships. Applicants need to be graduating San Diego County high school women who in the 2009-2010 school year will attend a four-year university or college that maintains National Panhellenic Council groups on campus. All applications must be received by Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

To obtain an application or for more information, go to www.sdaph.org or contact Dusty Reisch, scholarship and fraternity outreach chair at kreisch@san.rr.com or (858) 414-3101.

“We are looking for smart, well-rounded women who are active in school and their community,” said Dusty Reisch, scholarship chair, San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic. “Participating in sorority recruitment is not mandatory for our scholarship winners; however since our group is comprised of alumnae from sororities, we are looking for applicants that have a serious interest in becoming a member of the Panh-ellenic community.”

Outstanding applicants will be well-rounded women who demonstrate academic excellence as well as community and

school involvement. Requirements for the application are a completed application, a letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher and an official copy of applicant’s high school transcript. Selections will be made at the end of April and interviews will be conducted on May 9, 2009. Winners will be notified by mail starting May 11, 2009 and honored at a San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic’s luncheon on June 6, 2009.
