Southwestern College Hosts Candidate Forum

Forum Takes Place on Tuesday, September 30th at 6 p.m.

WHAT: Candidates for the California’s 78th State Assembly District and the Southwestern College (SWC) Governing Board have been invited to participate in a Candidate Forum at the College. Additionally, a presentation on Proposition R will be given at the forum. The Candidate Forum is sponsored by the SWC Associated Student Organization, SWC Classified & Academic Senates, the California School Employees Association (CSEA), the Southwestern College Education Association (SCEA) and the South Bay Forum.

Presidential Debate Gathering:

Friday, Sept. 26 at the new South Bay Democratic Office, 380 Third Avenue in Chula Vista’s Downtown Village. Foreign Policy Debate begins at 6 pm and lasts 90 minutes. Moderator: Jim Lehrer, Editor & Anchor, The News Hour, PBS.

Historic Mid-City Communities to Grill Candidates at Sept. 30 Forum

On Tuesday, September 30, 2008, home-owners and citizens in historic Mid-City neighborhoods of San Diego will bring pointed questions about neighborhood development and community character to prospective city council members as well as to the incumbent city attorney and his opponent. Candidates from the District 1, District 3 and District 7 races will appear, along with city attorney Mike Aguirre, at a public forum from 6 to 8 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, 3393 Park Boulevard, 92103.
