Que pasó con el Mayor Sanders? Is he running for re-election as mayor of San Diego or for US Senate? Esto Indio is a little confused, his office sends out press releases congratulating the Senate for passing the economic stimulus package which wouldn’t have been possible without his support. Seems as though his trip to Washington the other day was all that was needed to get the job done. Too bad he can’t travel down the hallway to get his own city council to move in such a positive fashion….

Jose Preciado is holding his first fundraiser as he gears up for his run at the County Board of Education Seat #2. Preciado’s fundraiser will be held this Saturday, February 23, 6 pm, at Mangia Italiano Rest., 248 Third Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91909. Buena suerta Señor Preciado.

Now the other shoe drops. Preciado is running for Nick Aguilar’s seat which means Aguilar will soon (if not already) announce for the Southwestern College Board, could it be for a run at David Agosoto’s seat? Rumor out there had been that Bertha Lopez wanted to run for the County Board of Ed Seat #2, now what???

In Chula Vista city councilman Steve Castañeda is up for re-election. Pobrecito Castañeda will not only have to run against the challengers but will have to face off against District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis and the good old boys who want to see him out of office. Castañeda will have to defend himself, not for committing a crime but for not sharing with the DA his personal thoughts.

Hijole. Los Chicanos are a bit peeved that Hillary Clinton dumped Patti Solis Doyle as her campaign manager. Me thinks estos Chicanos are getting their panties in a bunch over nothing. The Clinton ship is taking on water big time and could very well lose the Democratic nomination, she had to do something. Happens all the time, campaign managers are only as good as the last election and Clinton hasn’t won a state in a long time now.

Of course firing Solis Doyle could backfire big time. Clinton needs to win Ohio and Texas where the Hispanic vote is huge. Firing Solis Doyle may not go over very well with those Mex-Texans, just another reason to switch to Obama.

President Bush using his last few months in office to shred the Constitution. While the Presidential candidates talk about change, the spineless elected officials continue to give Bush everything he wants. Now it is okay for the government to tap our phones and spy on us. Next on the list is to approve torture, water boarding. Presidential elections can’t come soon enough!
