Escondido Public Library presents: The Wizard Rockumentary
Two years ago twin sisters Mallory and Megan Schuyler began traveling the country to document wizard rock - music inspired by Harry Potter.
The result is the feature film “The Wizard Rockumentary: A Movie About Rocking and Rowling.” The movie documents the development of the fan music genre, the musicians’ goals to promote the love of books and music among young people, and the emotions within the fandom during the year leading up to the final book release.
Escondido Public Library will be screening the film Friday, August 15 at 3:30 p.m. in the Turrentine Room of the Main Library on 239 S. Kalmia Street in downtown Escondido. Local wizard rock band Marked As His Equal will be opening the event. CDs of the band’s music and DVDs of the movie will be available for purchase. A trailer for “The Wizard Rockumentary” may be viewed on the film’s website: http:/wizardrockumentary.com.
For more information about the screening, please call Teen and Media Librarian Donna Feddern at (760) 839-4828.
