4th Annual Encuentros Education and Career Exploration Conference, “Your Future Begins Now”

When: Saturday, October 6, 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Where: Palomar College, San Marcos campus, 1140 West Mission Road, San Marcos, CA 92069

Why: To heighten educational expectations among Latino boys, 600 middle and high school Latino boys from North County are expected to participate. 30-60 workshops will be delivered by professionals from various careers, such as law, engineering, science, auto technology, chemistry, medicine, education, psychology and more.

This year’s event will include a continental breakfast, lunch, motivational and informative lectures representing a variety of career fields, educational information from local colleges, (one-on-one and small group sessions) led by prominent Latino males occupying various roles.

A career expo will take place during lunch, giving the participants an opportunity to explore a variety of careers. Some of the companies and individuals expected to participate include Artie Ojeda, NBC 7/39; Ricardo Vela, Univision TV; Northrop Grumman Corporation, La Raza Lawyers Association.

Seating is limited to 600 participants. Pre-registration is required and may be submitted by mail, fax, and online. Forms may be found at www.palomar.edu/encuentros
