City of San Diego: Public Forms on Proposed Water Rate Hikes

The City of San Diego has scheduled two public forums to provide information about a new proposal to adjust rate structures for the City’s water and wastewater system. The proposed rate adjustments are necessary to meet the terms of a court approved settlement agreement involving the City and to recover costs associated with rate increases for imported water the City buys from the San Diego County Water Authority.

Both forums are open to all members of the public. The Mayor and senior staff from the water and wastewater departments will be on hand to present information about the rate adjustment proposal and to answer questions.

The forums are scheduled as follows:

Monday, July 23 at 6 pm, Rancho Bernardo Library, 17110 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92128-2002.

Wednesday, July 25 at 6 pm, San Diego Workforce Partnership Offices, 3910 University Ave. San Diego, Ca. 92105.

Low Cost Immunizations Offered for Children

No Appointment Necessary

Immunizations are the most important way to keep children protected from serious preventable diseases. Neighborhood Healthcare ~ El Cajon is offering walk-in immunizations at 855 East Madison Avenue in El Cajon every Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The documentary film “September 11 Revisited” will be shown by Current Events Theater at the Rancho San Diego Library on Sunday, July 29th.

This film examines the evidence that the World Trade Center towers may have been intentionally imploded on 9/11 to create a “New Pearl Harbor.”

Gather at 1pm for popcorn and snacks, the movie will start at 1:30pm, with discussion following. East County Democratic Club will hold a general meeting from 3:15 to 5pm. La Mesa Library Mixes Potion of Fun and Festivities at Midnight Release Party

WHAT: The first 50 people at the branch’s Midnight Book Release Party will be able to check out the book from the library, giving them free access to the highly anticipated final installment in the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Others at the event can enter a drawing for a chance to win one of 10 additional copies, or they can buy the book, courtesy of Barnes and Noble. In the hours leading up to the release, the library will host a wide array of festivities. Aspiring Hogwarts scholars can mix up potions such as slime, create wands and wizard hats and have their fortunes told. Participants can also enjoy a magic show and carnival games, and everyone is encouraged to dress in costume.
