Hispanic Arts Theatre is very pleased to announce the San Diego Debut of the musical play La Posada Magica The Magical Journey written by Octavio Solis and music by Marcos Loya.
This theatrical show will take place December 21-23, 2007 with performances at 8 p.m. on December 21st and 22nd and 3 p.m. December 22nd and 23rd. Performances will take place at The Lyceum Theatre at Horton Plaza.
Hispanic Arts Theatre Artistic Director, Carlos Mendoza and Directors Mauricio Mendoza & Crissy Guerrero have assembled a very talented group of Hispanic actors from San Diego to bring this family musical to life. Cast members are: Michelle Cabinian, Leti Carranza, Maria Elena Garcia, Debbie Nicastro, Benjamin Mendoza, Ruben Padilla, Karlo Garcia, Bryan Barbarin, Marcus Cortez, and Ivan Quiceno.
La Posada Magica is performed in English with a latin beat. This enchanting musical play for the entire family is about a young girl who joins her neighborhood posada on Christmas Eve. Along the way, Gracie and her companions encounter colorful characters, including Chocolate-gobbling sisters, graveyard spooks and a heartthrob rock singer. Finally, the journey through her community commemorates Joseph and Mary’s search for lodging and becomes for Gracie a time of discovery, renewal and reunion.
Tickets for La Posada Magica-The Magical Journey are $15.00 General Admission, $12.00 for children 13 and under. Groups of 10 or more are only $10.00. Tickets are on sale now at the Lyceum Box office (619) 544-1000.
