Monthly Latino Film Series - Cinema en tu Idioma ’07 - Celebrates the Countdown to 15th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival

Media Arts Center San Diego’s San Diego Latino Film Festival presents it’s “Countdown to 15” showcase of new Latin American, Mexican and Spanish Cinema beginning this upcoming August through November 2007 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center. 

Join SDLFF for the big countdown to our 15th anniversary in 2008 and celebrate such films as El Metodo (Argentina/Spain), El Aura (Argentina), Family Law (Argentina), American Visa (Bolivia/Mexico), Elsa y Fred (Spain/Argentina), Asi del Precipicio (Mexico), Drama/Mex (Mexico), DarkBlueAlmostBlack (Spain), and Love For Sale (Brazil).

Building upon the San Diego Latino Film Festival’s successful monthly Cinema en tu Idioma series which was started more then seven years ago, the exciting 2007 addition of the series will be celebrating past and future stars of the annual San Diego Latino Film Festival including: Ricardo Darin, Eduardo Noriega, Kate del Castillo, Demian Bichir, Ana de la Reguera, and many more!

Unique to this year’s series, will be the amount of films to be spotlighted. Two or more films will be screened per month as part of the series. All films will share one screen at the UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (163 Freeway & Friars Rd.). Screening dates are: August 17-23 (El Metodo & Family Law), September 21-27 (American Visa & Asi del Precipicio), October 19-25 (Elsa y Fred & El Aura), and November 9-15 (Love for Sale & DarkBlueAlmostBlack). Discussion and Q&As about the films will follow 8:00 p.m. shows on Saturday screenings (August 18, September 22, October 20, and November 10th). 

Tickets are $9.50 General Audiences / $7.50 Students, seniors & Media Arts Center San Diego members. Individual tickets can be purchased prior to each screening at the UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center box office (7510 Hazard Center Dr., SD, CA 92108).
